One of my Christmas gifts this year. Should be fun, and I’ll get back into drawing everyday. I wonder what the first one will be…

Video Games and Classical Music
Having grown up playing video games, it is always interesting to see how different aspects of the “art” have grown. I heard an NPR broadcast on video games music being interpreted into more classical themes. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up purchasing the music album that was being discussed. Hearing the Tetris theme performed by a string quartet is pretty amazing.
Enjoy!

Pixar in Concert
Saw “Pixar in Concert” at the Hollywood Bowl. What an amazing concert to listen to as well as see. During the musical performance by the LA Phil different clips from the movies were projected on to big screens throughout the the Hollywood Bowl. Hope I can get to another event at the bowl again sometime soon.
Make Good Art
Came across this video recently. Neil Gaiman gives a commencement speech at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Very insightful and inspiring.
LMU & ARTSmart
10 years ago while I was an undergraduate at LMU I was involved in a community arts program called ARTSmart, that helped bring art eduction to local schools. It is so exciting to see that the program is still going strong and bringing the joy of art to local school children.

The 3 P’s
Came across a great post on a blog, Muddy Colors
The post was by Gregory Manchess, and it talked about the 3 P’s, perfection, procrastination and paralysis. I know that I have encountered those P’s many times. It was encouraging to read about the 10 ways to push yourself past those roadblocks. Hope I can continue to remember those 10 things.
