Gnomon: The Making of Guardians of the Galaxy

This past Thursday I had a chance to trek up to Hollywood and visit Gnomon for their “The Making of Guardians of the Galaxy” presentation. Some really awesome artists were on hand to talk about their work and process. I was fortunate to get a great seat and really take in all of the information that Josh Herman, Andy Park, Jackson Sze, Anthony Francisco, Rodney Fuentebella and Charlie Wen shared with the group. Wish I could have taken some pictures. There’s a great recap with some pictures on Gnomon’s site.

After getting home I added a drawing of Groot to my “One Sketch a Day” sketchbook.

International Self Portrait Day – 2014

Yesterday was International Self Portrait Day. An event that started 7-8 years ago now. Such a fun event to take part in. My participation has been on and off over the last few years. Thankfully I was able to find some time and get one in this year.

You can also see it here in my conceptart.org sketchbook, or the ISPD Thread.

Revisions

Been pretty busy at work lately. Working on some models and shots over and over and over and over… well you get the point. I know its part of the job, but it is amusing from my perspective to work on something and make multiple revision only to end up with what you did first, be picked.

Anyway, while waiting for some renders to complete last night I did a little doodle on my iPhone. Thought I post it up here to share.iPhoneDoodle_talkbubble_03132014

Xeno Cel

Happy Thursday! Here is a #TBT post for you. Xeno Cel is a hand drawn animated short that I had the pleasure of being a part of shortly after I graduated college. My instructor from LMU, John Dillon had asked myself and Dom Bianchi to give him a hand on creating a little short. I recently became aware of it being posted up on youtube.
Enjoy!
