MB Workshop LA2013 – Recap

So the other weekend I had the chance to go to the Massive Black Workshop held at Manhattan Beach Studios. It has taken me over a week to decompress and I’m sure that I will continue to pull knowledge and inspiration from being able to go to the workshop for years to come.

There were so many amazing artists that I watched share their craft. All of the creative people that I got to hang out with for a couple of days. Getting to talk to Andrew “Android” Jones and Justin “El Coro” Kaufman, was a high light of mine. Learned more about perspective from Carl Dobsky, in 1 session then I think I learned all through college.

The only downside to the workshop, was there was so much going on ALL the time, it was impossible to catch it all. But the venues was also set up so that you could roam around the venue freely.

Now it’s up to me to continue to work on my craft… while at work, outside of work, in the morning, late at night… whenever. I need to recommit myself to making art for art’s sake.

I took some pictures while I was there. Not as many as I would have liked, but lets be honest, I was too busy watching and hanging out and trying to soak it all in. So here is what I was able to capture… Enjoy!
